CNN, BBC reporting live. BREAKING NEWS- Women wrath hits the Guinness book of world record for an unmatched and unprecedented number of molestations, rapes, feticides, genocide, and child-marriages. This record, a new benchmark stands to be broken every minute raising its bar to an escalating figure that reflects the paradoxical nature of our society rampantly reflecting the women of the new millennium.

From times immemorial and for reasons not all known, the soul of a woman has been in a battered and shattered state yet she remains a sumptuous trophy!! Desired but denied her grace. If there is something I want to say, it is – ‘Oh!.. My fair lady, fairer than snow, find your goal & fend your soul’.

Can’t you define?

Is woman a symbol of peace, life, dignity, … or a mere ‘mistress’ to her master, hostess to the guests and a housekeeper at home to tender her new-born and prepare them for life. Who is she?.. why doesn’t the debate ever give a conclusive result. She has been equated to Goddess yet treated like cattle, violated, killed, and sold. The ones who may not have experienced such gruesome cruelty also get shudders at the very thought and mention of it as they too remain in an unceasing fright making them unsafe from womb to grave. Even a woman who is publically praised might be personally-n-privately subjugated to physical, mental and psychological torture. The women may be in possession of a status but they rarely escape its tentative and intangible nature where permanency is pertinently poor.

Can’t you refine?

Men and women, distinguished by a just an X-Y chromosome are technically the two complementary chunks of ‘Human race’ yet by the prevalent narrow mind-set they become inertly so different. While the boy gets to inherit and rule the home-boundaries, the girl is destined to be born in one home and then sent to another. There are loads of additional responsibilities apart from reconciling with her fate and mate. Her beauty is admired, brains are used but the credit is stolen, usually. Dealing with dubious and dual distinctions, she is forever weary trying to re-assert herself to those who chose to only ignore.

There have been a plethora of literate and activists’ movements but an ever-increasing number still stumble to the awning gap between what is preached and practised. Her plight might just start within a few days of conception, from talks to termination; it is but a torturous tale. If she manages to be safe in the womb, the world will be her battlefield, where she will have to fight alone.

Can’t you refrain?

Who is to be blamed?.... the women herself. A bright and chirpy girl giving too much importance to male attention, their remarks becoming more important than her marks is the problem in the bud. As it flowers, she surrenders herself to male desires and domination. Only much later, does she cry out sensing terror, her crushed self and ever growing insecurity.

Can’t you reform?

She needs to emphasise and realize her role in society of which she is an integral part. Not only as a homemaker but also during armed-conflict, repatriation, resettlement, reintegration, and reconstruction; she builds and binds Nations. She needs to understand her emotional, psychological and physical self. Sex is biologically determined at birth, but gender is socially determined and it only refers to the roles and responsibilities that are created within a closed frame-work. These roles are nothing but mere expectations, some realistic and some pressurising. They need change with changing time and we have to prepare everyone to learn-unlearn-relearn as we rage a fight against gender bias. She ought to be a full partner in her home, her community, and her society. Also bridge the ever-widening gap between different cultures and communities as they all begin to live alike and chase similar goals.
